A Grade 8 piano student may play a Mozart sonata but still struggle to produce a good result during the school’s assessment. Another may be a strong violinist or singer, but lack the musical knowledge or theor foundations to score well in the written papers. Another may excel in the performance and western music component, but lacks the skills in composition or listening skills in the Asian music component.

Will Taking Music Theory Courses Help

Students preparing for Grades 6, 7 and 8 Theory benefit enormously when theoretical concepts are reinforced through music theory classes. Together with practical piano lessons, this integration produces more efficient learning.
